At the Mill Valley Film Festival, the protagonists were present for three Q&As, in-school visits, radio and video interviews and a performance. In addition to screenings of Finding the Gold Within—we offer The Gold Within – Feel Us!, a live theatrical presentation with a Q&A as part of our community outreach plans. Another chance for audiences and the young men to bridge the gulfs that our society is still suffering from.

How Mythological Stories Can Help Urban Youth in Your Community

Since 2003, Alchemy, Inc. has provided in-school development programs to more than 1,500 elementary, middle-, and high school-aged urban youth in the Cleveland-Akron area.

On November 19th, 2012, Alchemy founder Dr. Kwame Scruggs was honored by First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House with a National Arts and Humanities Youth Award.

Since 2013, Alchemy has worked with nationally acclaimed arts program, AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island, and groups of youth at the Harlem Renaissance Festival in Prince George Country, Maryland. The organization has also conducted training for youth development providers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Alchemy is available to give workshops nationwide for community groups, schools, therapists, social workers, and others with a mission to help America’s youth.

Michael Meade is featured in Finding the Gold Within working with the Alchemy youth.

Michael Meade, D.H.L., is a renowned storyteller, author, and scholar of mythology, anthropology, and psychology. He combines hypnotic storytelling, street-savvy perceptiveness, and spellbinding interpretations of ancient myths with a deep knowledge of cross-cultural rituals. He has an unusual ability to distill and synthesize these disciplines, tapping into ancestral sources of wisdom and connecting them to the stories we are living today.

Mosaic Multicultural Foundation is a network of artists, healers, social activists, and community builders. Mosaic formed to create cross-cultural alliances, creative mentoring relationships, and educational projects. Mosaic actively seeks to encourage greater understanding between people with diverse and divergent backgrounds and experiences. Projects include mentoring youth and developing elders, finding common ground between those in opposition, and shaping community events that unite people of various cultural and spiritual backgrounds. Mosaic means putting essential pieces together; shaping new social forms from separate, divided, even estranged parts. The creative process of finding, fitting, and weaving together divergent, yet necessary elements of a diverse culture involves making new social fabrics from existing ethnic, spiritual, psychological, and political threads.
